Halloween history illustration
I was approached by the lovely peeps at Radar Media to create a piece of artwork on the spooky side of Halloween, well, there isn’t another side,...or is there?! Check out their cool article on the origins, where the traditions of Halloween and all that other malarkey comes from, it’s a very cool piece. The brief was to create an image based on one of my earlier ‘collage’ pieces (check those out here). The skull contains a variety of media which included CGI models, pen and ink renderings, vector graphics and some simply spooky scary sketches. Bet you didn’t know that originally instead of pumpkins being carved the geezers back then used turnips, yup, believe it or not it’s true! That said I didn’t think turnips really fitted so well ;-) Anyway, here’s my artwork, I had a gallon of fun making it!
