Book jacket
I was commissioned by the by the people at Five Mile Press to create some artwork for a London based book. The publisher had seen my Becoming Nancy book cover for a UK based publishing house (cover not on site). I'm very proud of my work ethic and for this piece I decided to make 3D models of key London landmarks to enable me to "position" them exactly where I wanted them and to light them in a very precise way for my needs in this commission.
Me reason for creating bespoke models was because I couldn't photograph the landmarks from the positions that I wanted, in the case of Big Ben, I wanted the angle to be from above the tower so I created my models in the virtual world which enabled exact positioning and lighting. The client was very pleased with the results, as was I!
I'm not ashamed to say that my attention to detail is second to none. Every aspect of the London landmarks were created in painstaking detail in order to ensure that my models looked just like the real things! All of these elements were then lit precisely to my needs in a 'virtual' studio and post processed. The clients exact words were "once we had picked our jaws off of the floor we were able to discuss your exceptional artwork". I don't mean to boast but I was very proud of this!
